Māori, Pasifika and Migrant workers within Aotearoa New Zealand

Te Takenga Mai

Recognising the importance of collaboration and community, Te Rōpū Marutau o Aotearoa (TRMA) has embarked on the development of a partnering programme – Te Takenga Mai – with ACC, supported by Navona, and other critical stakeholders to uplift Māori workers' outcomes.

Navona is supporting, Te Rōpū Marutau o Aotearoa (TRMA), a Māori national health and safety association dedicated to enhancing workplace health and safety outcomes for Māori workers in Aotearoa/New Zealand, guided by our uara - manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and kaitiakitanga, throughout its initiatives.

Project Summary

This initiative is grounded in the principle of kotahitanga to collectively address the disparities faced by Māori, Pasifika and other minority ethnic workers.

To achieve its objectives, TRMA, in partnership with stakeholders have embarked on this project to determine the strategic intent and desirability of a long-term strategic programme. The project is informed by the principles of whakamana and rangatiratanga to ensure the feasibility and viability of the programme.

The current stage is to determine whether the potential role and contribution that TRMA can make is supported and valued by the critical stakeholder organisations and businesses
